Kara L. Ewing, MSW, LCSW
Kara is fully licensed to practice in North Carolina and Alabama. |
Kara graduated with an MSW in 2001 from The Ohio State University and immediately moved to the Charlotte area for blue skies and warm weather. Since then, Kara has worked in a variety of settings including school-based therapy programs, a child and adolescent partial hospitalization program, an adolescent intensive outpatient program, and a child and adolescent inpatient program. She has been in private practice in the Lake Norman area since 2008 and opened up her own practice in 2020.
Kara enjoys working with all ages and has over 20 years of experience helping individuals and families. Although Kara primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she incorporates several other modalities and interventions to ensure treatment is individualized and client driven. Kara’s primary goal is to provide an atmosphere to the client that is comfortable and safe and allows personal discovery and growth. She works with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, life changes, family stressors (including parenting), and behavioral/impulsive challenges. Kara and her husband live in the Lake Norman area and have one son who is an avid baseball player. When Kara is not on the sidelines of a baseball field, she enjoys running, hiking with the family dog, watching football, and laughing with family and friends. She strongly believes that mental health and physical health impact one another and therefore is slowly pursuing a certification in nutrition through American Fitness Professional and Associates and hopes to eventually add nutrition consultation to her practice. |
