​Jennifer currently is licensed as 
As associate/provisional provider in ​North Carolina.

This means she has completed the required education
for her licensure and is in the process of completing the required clincial hours toward full licensure.
Jennifer brings over 30 years of experience working with children, teenagers, and families to Empowered Path Counseling.  Her journey began as a speech-language pathologist, nurturing communication skills in her clients.  Throughout her years as a SLP, Jennifer observed how often mental health challenges also impacted her clients’ communication skills. This inspired her to pursue counseling. In 2022, she completed her Master's degree in Counseling at East Carolina University, expanding her focus to the mental health and emotional well-being of teenagers and adults.

Jennifer has a unique perspective on the challenges faced by teenagers and young adults.  Having served as a high school counselor, she worked extensively with students individually and in groups and collaborated and consulted with teachers and parents.  She addressed mental health needs, executive functioning skills, and social communication competencies.  Her experience extended to supporting students and their families with learning differences, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and auditory processing difficulties. As a former Division I basketball player at Texas Tech University, she connected deeply with student-athletes, understanding the unique pressures and complexities they face.

Jennifer is passionate about helping teens and adults navigate difficult times in their lives while also discovering, celebrating, and utilizing their strengths  and passions.  She utilizes Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients:
  • Navigate challenges: Stress, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Autism, self-esteem, and life transitions.
  • Develop social competencies: Discover and practice the intricacies of social communication needed for school and the workplace.
  • Thrive academically: Learn self-advocacy and executive functioning skills.
  • Balance athletic life: Manage internal and external pressures while maintaining confidence and performance as a student-athlete.​​

When Jennifer isn't working, you might find her cheering for her sons at their basketball, soccer, and lacrosse games!  She also enjoys reading, theater, fitness, healthy living, and crafting.  Jennifer and her family live in the Huntersville area.

​Information on Services and Rates

Jennifer is eager to meet with you in person for your most productive counseling experience.
Telehealth counseling can be used as a secondary modality when necessary.
Jennifer offers Monday and Friday appointments.

 Rates are as follows:
​  Assessments/Initial Evaluations: $140/hour
Individual therapy hours thereafter: $125/hour
Consultation (Individual or Family): $125/hour
A detailed good faith estimate of services will be provided to clients ​at the time of service or upon request.
